Wsis as a World of Words What Can We Say about so Much Talking? a Lexicon-textual Analysis of Wsis, Looking at the Final Documents from the First Phase of the Summit

چکیده
We present a lexicon-textual analysis of final documents from the first phase of the World Summit on the Information Society together with reflections on the authors, their visions of information society and their ideas on governance. We suggest that a “common vision of the information society” is yet to emerge. WSIS has contributed to an identification of actors and positions relating to societal transformations due to technological developments, but the “multi-stakeholder dialogue” cannot yet be considered a model in the global governance of communication: different priorities, languages and modes of communication need more than a physical space of encounter in order to develop a common discourse on the future of knowledge societies.
